We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our good friend and former colleague, Diallo Sharrieff, who served in the BPS for 3 years from 1993 -1996. Diallo was the son of another of our colleagues, the Late Sgt Takbir Sharrieff (formerly Gary Perinchief).
On behalf of our ExPo members we extend our deepest sympathy to his mother, Edna Sharrieff, to his children, Enaharo, Arianna and Llogham, and to all his many family and friends.
A Funeral Service for Diallo will be held at 10am on Wednesday 30th September 2026. Interment will follow the service at The Muslim Burial Site, at Ferry Reach Park, St. George’s.

We have received the following tribute to Diallo sent on behalf of Commissioner of Police, Darrin Simons:-
Dear Colleagues,
It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing of former Bermuda Police Service Constable Diallo Sharrieff, on Friday, 25th September 2026.
Diallo joined the Bermuda Police Service in November 1993 as a member of Basic Training Course #48. He served the Bermuda Police Service and the Bermuda community with dedication for approximately three years before leaving the Service in 1996.
During his time with the BPS, Diallo was an avid sportsman, representing the Service in both football and cricket. He also travelled overseas on several occasions with the BPS football team, including trips to Australia and England.
Diallo did not stray far from serving his community following his departure from the BPS. He joined the Bermuda Customs Department before moving to the Bermuda Immigration Department in 2002, where he served for approximately 24 years. During his career with Immigration, he progressed through the ranks and became a Senior Immigration Officer, a position he held until his passing.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Darrin Simons, joined the Service alongside Diallo in 1993 and completed his recruit training with him. The Commissioner shared the following memories of Diallo:
“I met Diallo on our recruit foundation course more than 30 years ago. From day one, he was larger than life. He was imposing, but always friendly and easy to talk to. He knew when to be serious and when to relax, and he always read the moment right.
As a colleague, he backed you up and was always ready to step in when you needed help. He brought humour into every room. His teasing was always good-natured, and he was the life of the party.”
On behalf of the Bermuda Police Service, I extend our sincere condolences to Diallo’s family and loved ones. Diallo was a loving father to Enaharo, Arianna and Lloghan; son of Edna Sharrieff and the late Sgt. Takbir Sharrieff (formerly Gary Perinchief); and brother to Gaynelle, Tracey, Khari, Kareema, Bismillah and Karriem. We also extend our condolences to his many former colleagues and friends who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him.
Although Diallo’s time as a member of the Bermuda Police Service was relatively brief, his commitment to public service in Bermuda continued for more than three decades. His contribution to policing, sport and the wider community will be remembered by those who knew and worked alongside him.
