Young P.C. Colin Chiswell
We regret to announce that one of our colleagues, former P.C. Colin Chiswell, who served in the Bermuda Police from October 1960 – April 1964, passed away peacefully in Kelowna BC on 12th November 2024 at the age of 86.
We learned of Colin’s passing after receiving a recent enquiry about him from Cam Burke, Mike Burke’s wife in Jersey. Cam and Mike had been friends of Colin’s for many years but had lost contact with him a few years ago. A search of the internet revealed Colin's obituary dated 2024.
Colin ChiswellWhile serving here in the Bermuda Police, Colin was stationed mainly in Central Division, Hamilton, but also spent a year in Operations, Traffic Department. He was an avid sportsman who played cricket in one our best police cricket teams, football as goalkeeper for police, and was also on our first police hockey team.

In 1964 Colin made the decision to emigrate to Canada, and judging by the information in his obituary which you can CLICK HERE to view on our ExPo website at https://expobermuda.com/.../1558-news-about-sad-passing... he had a very successful and happy life, maintained both his British sense of humour and his love of sports, and even took on the task of teaching Canadian children how to play cricket!
