His career reflects a lifelong commitment to justice, supporting victims and mentoring the next generation of investigators.
Now retired and back living in the United Kingdom, Dean has embraced the next chapter of his life. He has taken up golf, continues to prioritise his fitness by attending several spin classes each week, and enjoys travelling whenever the opportunity arises. Above all, he considers himself fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful family and a close circle of friends, with whom he enjoys spending quality time. Looking back with pride on a career spanning 35 years, Dean remains grateful for the opportunities, experiences and lifelong friendships that policing has given him.

EDITORS NOTE - We were delighted to receive this "Then and Now" article about Dean following him attending a Reunion held in Leeds on 19th September 2026 for those UK officers who were in the Intakes of 2000 and 2001. We are always pleased to hear from any of our former colleagues, even if you just write and let us know where you are and what you're doing these days.

Dean described the Leeds Reunion as follows:-
"The reunion was a fantastic opportunity to get the lads back together. It was especially great to see some of the boys we hadn’t seen since leaving Bermuda. Over the years, some have retired, while others have moved on to new careers and different things.
"We all have incredibly fond memories of our time in Bermuda, and it was great to sit down together and reminisce about the experiences we shared. There were plenty of stories, laughter and memories, as well as conversations about what we’ve all been doing since moving on.
"The lads are a great bunch, and I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we were fortunate to have shared those experiences and, more importantly, to have made friendships that will last a lifetime."
