Coming soon on BBC 1
Our readers may recall that last October we reported on the BBC commissioning a new series called “Policing Paradise”, about Bermuda which would be shown on BBC television in the UK. At that time we reported a spokesman saying, “This TV programme is designed to show Bermuda, the BPS and the RBR coastguard (previously our Marine Section) in a good light while encouraging UK citizens to consider visiting the island.” CLICK HERE for the article we published last October,
Well, would you believe it, this morning 22nd March 2025 we received word from Ian Graham, and from Frank Wood, both in the UK, that the first of 16 episodes of Policing Paradise – Bermuda will be broadcast in the UK on BBC 1 at 2pm on Monday 24th March 2025. In the above ad for BBC I Player we see the description, “Keep palm and carry on with Bermuda’s island-hopping, crime-stopping police force. It’s not all blue skies as crews aim to keep locals, tourists and the famous faces safe.”
This should be a fascinating series for our ExPo members to follow, and we would be delighted to hear from you, both here on Island and wherever you are abroad, giving us your opinions on the series. For those of you who’ve been away from the Island for many years, I suspect that one of the first observations you’ll make is that our modern police officers sure do carry far more equipment than we ever did when we carried nothing more than our handcuffs, truncheons and whistles. How many of you have ever used your whistle?!
For those of us in Bermuda we will have to follow the series on BBC iPlayer if you are fortunate enough to have it, but wherever you are we’d love to hear from you about what you think about “Policing Paradise”!
