We recently reported that four of our colleagues were said to have health issues and all were reported to be quite seriously ill in King Edward Hospital. Here's an update as best we can ascertain:-
Dave Ashurst - Dave did suffer quite a serious head injury after a fall at home, and he spent 6 days in hospital being treated for concussion but he's now back at home and is almost as good as new! We reported on his latest condition in our Latest News column at http://expobermuda.com/index.php/latest-news/802-dave-ashurst-recovering-well and since then Dave has been spotted out grocery shopping so he's back on the road and is taking good care of Liz. Always good to receive positive news.
William "Willie" Woods
Willie Woods - We had heard at the Ex-Bobbies Bash that Willie was believed to be quite seriously ill in hospital but subsequent enquiries revealed that his hospital visit was some months ago. Willy does have ongoing health issues but Gerry Ardis sees him from time to time and says he's not getting out at all these days.
Jimmy "The Wop" Costello - Jimmy has been in hospital for some time and we had major concerns about him but latest reports are that with hospital care he is doing quite well. He's not very steady on his feet so uses a walker to get around on his ward. He's also said to be eating the food and is cheerful. Our latest report suggests that he'll remain in King Edward until after Christmas and he's then likely to be moved to one of the senior care homes. We'll keep you updated on his whereabouts.
Brian Malpas - The news is not so good about Brian who remains in hospital and is receiving palliative care. He would like to return home but his family is reviewing whether they can take adequate care of him bearing in mind his specialized medical needs. Brian remains in serious condition but does have visitors from time to time.
