Anyone who was serving in the Bermuda Police in 1970 will recall the day when a group Bermuda policemen set sail to Fiji on the good ship 'Fletcher Christian'.   They included the Captain, Des McSherry,  with crew members Jack Rouse,  Mike Caulkett, Tom Barnes, Eric Sanderson, and Dave Ashurst, none of whom had any real experiences as mariners with the exception of Des McSherry.  Only one, Dave Ashurst,  ever made it safely back to Bermuda and most of us thought he had grossly exaggerated his exploits at sea!
