We have just received the sad news that our good friend and former colleague Andy Dryburgh passed away in Scotland on 19th May last year (2017).
I had written last week to Andy's granddaughter, Danielle, and asked her to let Andy know about our "Then and Now" article on Mike Cherry. We first heard from Danielle in 2016 when she kindly wrote to let us know that Andy was living literally next door to her in Cardendon, Fife, and although in failing health he was still interested in keeping in touch with his old mates in the Bermuda Police Force. We wrote an article in our Latest News column with the information provided by Danielle which you can read at http://expobermuda.com/index.php/latest-news/501-contact-with-andy-dryburgh-in-scotland
Andy served here from May 1960 - Jan 1966 and was initially stationed in Central Division, Hamilton, before being transferred to Operations (Traffic). He married his wife Elizabeth (Betty) in October 1960, and their daughter Audrey, was born here in Bermuda.
We extend our sincere condolences to Andy and Betty's four children, six grandchildren and to all of the Dryburgh family.
