It is with deep regret that we just received news that former P.C. James Robertson passed away in hospital this morning (9th July 2016) at Cupar, Fife, in Scotland, at the age of 76. He had been suffering from a cancerous tumour of his spine and had been in hospital for the past 2 months.
James was born in Perth, and served in the Royal Military Police for 7 years prior to coming out to Bermuda to join the Police Force. After completing training school he served in Eastern Division where he spent most of his service, and also in Operations (Records) and at Police Headquarters in Stores. He served here for 6 years before returning to Scotland.
James was quiet and reserved but well liked by all who knew him.
We received the news from Jim McIlwain who had been contacted by Jim's daughter with the sad news.
We send our sincere condolences to Jim's family. We will publish details of his funeral as we receive them.
