P.C. Gerald Fletcher

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our former colleague and good friend, Gerald Fletcher, who served in the Bermuda Police from  1979-1989.  Gerald passed away on 19th June 2025 in Trinidad and Tobago.

Born in Trinidad, Gerald had previously served in the Trinidad and Tobago Police from 1970-1972 and initially joined the Bermuda Prison Service in 1972, before transferring to the Polce in 1979, where he served until 1989.  Whilst serving in the Police, Gerald started in Central Division (Hamilton) and  later transferred to Western (Uniform) where he also served as an Aide to CID, and in Western Parishes, before transfering to Operations (Traffic).

In April 1974 Gerald married fellow police officer Aideen Forde who had joined the Bermuda Police in 1969 and spent many years in our Scenes of Crime Department (S.O.C.O.) formerly C.R.O. Although the two were divorced 22 years later, they remained good friends.
