St. George's Police Mess - 1964
This photo was supplied to us by Keith Hatfield and was taken at the St. George’s Police Barracks sometime around 1964. It includes:-
Back row (l-r) Chris Fludgate (who later joined the Thames Valley Police), believed Frank Thompson (a Scot and very good golfer), Laurie Jackson (who went on to become an outstanding CID officer, but who died a few years ago) , Not sure? John “Boob” Travis (who left in February 1964), Jim Ripley (who left on the same flight at Keith Hatfield in 1965), and Alan Wyatt.
Front row - Keith Hatfield (Oct 1963 - June 1965) , Sgt Sid Gregory (left October 1964 to go on leave and never returned), Tom O’Sullivan (died a few years ago in Toronto), Alan Holdsworth? and Terry Lambert.
Editors note - The guy sitting between Chris Fludgate and Laurie Jackson is probably not Frank Thompson who came out on the same day as me on 29th May 1964, and our records show that John "Booob" Travis left in February 1964, 3 months prior to the arrival of Frank Thompson. It would mean that this photo must have been taken sometime prior to February 1964.
