Retired Inspector St. Clair "Brinky" Tucker and his sister Elaine Fox were featured on the front page of the Royal Gazette on January 13th 2017, as the great-grandchildren of King's Pilot, James T. Griffiths who made history 100 years ago when he piloted the first ever veseel to sail into St. George's Harbour through Town Cut on January 1st 1917.
Brinky and his family are proud of their family's martitime history which includes great-grandfather James Griffiths, and their grandfather Charles Griffiths who also became a King's Pilot.
The Royal Gazette reports that the Bermuda Pilot Gig Cliub is organizing a parade to mark the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the Norwegian cargo ship, S.S. Admiralen through Town Cut and piloted by James Griffiths. The parade will be held on 21st January in St. George's.
The gold watch held by Brinky and his sister Elaine was presented to their great grandfather in February 1917 to mark his historic achievemnt. This is an event not to be missed, with a prime viewing spot at Gates Fort.
