It is with great sadness that we read the name of Elizabeth "Betty" Osborne in the Obituary column of todays Royal Gazette (30th September 2015)
Betty was one of our first Women police officers when she joined the Bermuda Police on 12th March 1962, along with Gwendolyn DeGrilla, and just a few weeks after our first Bermudian women police officer, Jean (Mathis) Vickers. Betty served from March 1962 to March 1970, and I'm sure I can speak on behalf of all those who knew her that Betty was a delightful person and always a pleasure to work with. We offer our sincere condolences to Betty's family and her many friends.
