(Organizer) John Price

Our latest news from the UK is about a reunion for Ex-Bermuda Bobbies and Friends being held in Birmingham on Wednesday 6th November, and they will be staying at the Premier Inn in Exchange Square.

The organizer is our old friend John Price, and so far those who have already signed up include “Moby” Pett who had already been planning a visit to England,  Angus Brown, John Arlott, Ivan Davies (who was here as a hotel manager and played for the “Blue Meanies”) and John.

We also hear that others who might be attending include Bill Nixon, Dai Thomas,  “Coco” Eve, and Davie Kerr who would have to travel down to Brum  all the way from the wilds of Scotland!

We heard recently that our good friend “Coco” has been undergoing radiation treatment and at this point he isn’t sure if he will be well enough to attend, but we wish him a speedy recovery and we know for sure that Coco usually never misses an opportunity to attend these reunions so we’re hoping to hear the good news that he can make it.

These reunions are always very popular and enjoyable, reminiscing about happy days in Bermuda, and John has advised that anyone else who would like to join the party is more than welcome to do so and you should contact him directly.  For anyone who doesn’t have John’s contact details you can email us at info@expobermuda.com and we will be happy to pass the information onto John.

I should explain that we class John Price as an Honorary Member of ExPo.  He came out to Bermuda in May 1970  to work at the Bank of Bermuda where  he “fell under the influence” of  our old friend Tom Gallagher who persuaded him to join the Police Rugby Team.  John happened to be a talented kicker, and there was a fierce but friendly rivalry between the two for kicking duties on the team.  In his spare time  John even volunteered as Public Relations officer for the rugby team. He also put his kicking ability to good use as a regular member of the Police Football Team.
