Although the Bermuda Ex-Police Officers Association (now commonly referred to as Bermie ExPo) has been in existence since the 1960’s it was inactive for several years. It has now been injected with new enthusiasm by a team of former Bermuda Police Officers who are committed to improving the Association and stimulating interest amongst all those who have served in the Bermuda Police, together with their families and friends.

Bermie Ex-Po’s primary aim is to encourage our colleagues to keep in touch with each other, hence the reason for launching this website.   Through it we are providing a means for former and retired members of the Bermuda Police to record our collective history, and to share our memories. We are also including former members of our civilian staff.

Bermie Ex-Po currently organizes several social events each year, usually at the Police Recreation Club, or the Senior Officer’s Mess at Prospect. These include an annual summer BBQ and a reception at the start of each New Year. We are aware that our former colleagues from overseas have organized events in their home countries, and we would be delighted to assist you in publicizing these get-togethers, whether it is in Canada, the West Indies, the UK, or Down Under. Who knows, if this website is successful in bringing us all closer together we might even think of holding a grand reunion here in Bermuda.

You do not need to be a paid up member of Bermie Ex-Po to be able to enjoy our website, but we would encourage all former members of the Bermuda Police who normally reside in Bermuda to join our organization. The annual cost of membership is $40 for those under the age of 70, and $20 for those over the age of 70. Our financial year runs from 1st April - 31st March.  Membership fees can either be paid directly to our Treasurer, Gail Correia,  or through direct deposit into our current account at the Bank of Butterfield #20-006-060-678-460-100.  Widows and widowers of former officers are honorary members, as are retired civilian staff. We are most grateful to the Police Association for a generous donation that has made the creation of this website possible, but we will be relying on membership fees to keep it active and up-to-date.
