P.C. Melvin Gibbons

11th June  -  Dave Cook reports the very good news that Mel is now back in Bermuda following his operation at Lahey Clinic.   Dave saw Mel and Carolyn in church last Sunday and says that he looks very well, and spoke very highly of the successful surgery and the good care he received at Lahey.  Carolyn thanked Dave for the interest shown in Mel's situation through ExPo.  We are delighted to report such good news.

We had heard a few weeks ago that our good friend Mel Gibbons had been experiencing heart problems, and his wife, Carolyn informed us that he went up to the Lahey Clinic where he underwent a 10 hour bypass surgery which was more complicated than had been anticipated,  but Mel  has now been transferred to the New England Rehabilitation Hospital and is beginning to make slow but steady progress.

Carolyn thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Mel which have helped him get through his ordeal.  We wish him a speedy recovery.

Mel joined the Force in 1960 and worked for 11 years in Eastern Division before being transferred to Operations in 1971, and then to Western as the Warwick Parish Constable.   He went on to work for many years at the Supreme Court before his retirement.
