Who rode this Triumph 350cc Police Motor Cycle

Our ExPo website receives some unusual enquiries from time to time, but this one, from  Artie Showsted in Massachusetts really piqued our interest.

Triumph 3500cc Police Motor Cycle

Artie sent us the above photos of a 350cc Triumph motor cycle believed to have initially been purchased by the Bermuda Police in May 1968, and registered at TCD as of 1st July 1969.  We understand that 1968 was the last year for the manufacture of this particular model, and that the Bermuda Police ordered three of them in 1968.

Artie had heard about this old Triumph languishing in a garage.  He has been given to understand that the bike was given to a retiring Bermuda police officer in the late 1970’s, who it turn, gave it to his son-in-law who took it to the U.S, where it was stored in the garage.

After reading our Expo website article about the history of our Police Motor Cycle Display (CLICK HERE to view the article) Artie decided to write to us to see if anyone can assist in locating the police officer or officers who would have ridden this motor cycle, and who took possession of it after it was no longer used by the Police.

We are hoping someone can assist in answering Artie’s questions.
