THE YORK REUNION

Several weeks ago we ran the story below about a planned reunion of the young men who stepped off a BA flight in October 1973 to join the Bermuda Police.  We are pleased to report that the reunion was held in York, England, on the weekend of October 5th and was a great success.  CLICK HERE for a full report on the reunion as provided by Ian Graham.

In early October 1973 a group of young men from the U.K stepped off a BA flight  at the Civil Air Terminal to join the Bermuda Police, and they will be getting together again for a grand reunion in York on Saturday 5th October 2013,  some 40 years later.  The reunion is being organized by Ian Graham, Bob Kinnon and Paul Deans, and will take place at the Park Inn by Radisson in York, where the group will meet in the hotel bar (believe it or not) before having dinner.

The original group comprised Paul Deans, Dave Lunn, George Readings, Chris Pearce, Frank Donald, Martin Connor, Colin Hopkins, Paul Davis, Ian Graham, Donald Grant, Bob Kinnon, Frank Wood, Chris Bowerman, and the late Damian Willcocks.

Wives are also invited and it's anticipated that a good time will be had by all.

Ian and Bob with their wives both visited Bermuda in 2012 and spent an evening at the Police Club enjoying our annual summer BBQ (see photos in our Photo Gallery - Summer BBQ 2012 ).

We send best wish to all the attendees and look forward to receiving a full report on the proceedings.
